Bonilla, Sanchez propel Dawgs to fifth straight victory

The Dawgs beat the Brooks Bombers 11-6 on Saturday night at Seaman Stadium for their fifth consecutive win to open the season.

Batting leadoff, Ricky Sanchez played his first home game of the campaign for the Dawgs and went 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs. Benito Bonilla added a pair of home runs and had three RBIs.

Garrett Maloney was the starting pitcher for the Dawgs and he struck out six, while allowing two earned runs in four innings to earn the win.

Seaman Stadium was packed with 5,513 fans who showed up to support the Dawgs and take part in Veterans Night.

Before the game, the Dawgs and fans honoured veterans with a flag parade by the Okotoks Legion.
