Canadian infielder Adam Hall has had his contract transferred to the Milwaukee Brewers by the independent American Association’s Winnipeg Goldeyes.

The Goldeyes made the announcement on Sunday.

Hall (London, Ont.) had gone 10-for-19 (.526 batting average) in six games with the Goldeyes to open the season. He had a home run, three doubles and seven runs.

Earlier in the month, he missed a week of action due to quad tightness, but he enjoyed his time with the Goldeyes.

“Being a Canadian guy, I’ve actually never got to play in front of a Canadian crowd,” Hall told The Winnipeg Free Press after the Goldeyes’ home opener on May 21. “Just the experience of that was pretty cool.”

Hall, a Great Lake Canadians and Junior National Team alum, had signed with the Goldeyes in February.

Selected in the second round of the 2017 MLB draft by the Baltimore Orioles, Hall played parts of six seasons in the O’s organization. He had a promising start to his professional career. In 2018 and 2019, he batted .293 and .298 in low-A and High-A respectively, but he missed the entire 2020 campaign due to the COVID-19 pandemic and he was hampered by injuries during 2022 and 2023.

In 2023, he suited up for just 11 games between Rookie Ball and High-A.

Still only 25, Hall will now have a second shot at moving up in the affiliated pro ranks in the Brewers’ organization.

Hall is set to become the seventh Canadian to play in the Brewers’ minor league system this season, joining Tyler Black (Stouffville, Ont.), Dylan O’Rae (Sarnia, Ont.), Andy Yerzy (North York, Ont.), Justin King (Lloydminster, Alta.), Jake Polancic (Langley, B.C.) and Rob Zastryzny (Edmonton, Alta.).
