Brunner, Lumbard, Luther spark Dawgs to fourth straight win

The Okotoks Dawgs continued their winning ways on Sunday as they defeated the Sylvan Lake Gulls 5-3 to extending their winning streak to four games.

The Dawgs registered 12 hits and now own a WCBL-leading 30-9 record.

Offensively, Ricky Sanchez went 2-for-3 with an RBI double in the fifth inning. Titus Dumitru, Brendan Luther (Mississauga, Ont.) and Caleb Lumbard (Regina, Sask.) also had two hits each for the Dawgs.

On the mound, Graham Brunner (Sherwood Park, Alta.) got the start and allowed just one run on four hits, while striking out five, in 5 2/3 innings.

The Dawgs will host the Lethbridge Bulls at Seaman Stadium on Monday. They will then have two days off before heading to Lethbridge to start a series with the Bulls on Thursday.
