Official Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame News Release
After two pandemic shortened years, the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is set to open for its first full season since 2019 on Sunday, May 1.
“The past two years have been extremely challenging for us,” said Scott Crawford, the Hall’s director of operations. “But we’re excited to open for a full season to show off our new museum and our vast collection of artifacts that celebrate the rich history of baseball in this country.”
The opening will mark the museum’s 25th season in St. Marys, Ont.
Starting on May 1, the museum will be open Tuesdays through Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., until August 31. You can purchase tickets online or at the door.
The Hall’s marquee event is its induction weekend which runs from June 16 to June 18. It begins with a welcoming event called “The Opening Pitch” which will be held on June 16 at Left Field Brewery in Toronto. The Hall’s 24th annual Celebrity Golf Classic and Banquet will take place the following day, with the induction ceremony set for Saturday, June 18.
Canadian baseball greats Justin Morneau (New Westminster, B.C.) and Jeff Francis (Vancouver, B.C.), Toronto Blue Jays icons Duane Ward and John Olerud and legendary Montreal Expos broadcaster Jacques Doucet (Montreal, Que.) will be inducted.
The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is located on a picturesque 32-acre site that includes outdoor walking trails and four premier baseball fields. Renovated and expanded in 2018, the museum houses dozens of one-of-a-kind artifacts which tell the story of baseball in Canada. The museum features interactive exhibits, a gift shop and the Centre for Canadian Baseball Research, the country’s leading baseball resource centre.
The newly expanded facility also includes rental space. For information about how your group can host an event at the museum, click here.
The museum will be open for reduced hours in September and October. More information about those hours will be posted on the Hall’s website.
