Heading to Howard College after completing his high school career with the Toronto Mets has worked out well for infielder Aaron Manias.

The Uxbridge, Ont., native led the Hawks with a .421 batting average during the 2023 regular season to go along with 14 home runs, 77 RBIs and 10 stolen bases.

In the final series of the year against New Mexico Military Institute, Manias dominated, starting with a 3-for-4 performance with a home run and three RBIs in a 8-4 Game 1 loss.

Game 2 also ended in a Hawks’ loss, but Manias had two hits, a walk, three RBIs and a stolen base.

Determined to get his team back in the win column, he went 4-for-4 with two home runs, six RBIs and two stolen bases as the Hawks won Game 3, 19-8.

Looking for a series split, he had four more hits, another home run and four RBIs in a 16-11 victory.

Before the series even started, Manias chose his next baseball destination committing to the University of Nebraska.

And now Aaron Manias is the Canadian Baseball Network College Player of the Week for May 1 to 7.
