The numbers don’t lie.
Brady Cerkownyk (Toronto, Ont.) is thriving in the middle of the Connors State Cowboys lineup.
Through 11 games, Cerkownyk is hitting .548 with nine home runs and 35 RBIs. Those latter two stats are stellar numbers over an entire campaign for some.
Last week, he continued to do what he does best, put fear in opposing pitchers. He started things off with a 3-for-6 game with two home runs and four RBIs as the Cowboys dominated Carl Albert 13-1.
Next up was a 2-for-4 game with a walk and five RBIs in an 18-2 win over North Central Texas in Game 1 of a doubleheader. In the back half, Cerkownyk went 2-for-5 with two more home runs and five RBI in a 14-11 loss.
Jump ahead to the weekend and he went 3-for-3 with a three doubles, a walk and four RBI in a 10-0 blanking of TCS Postgrad. During the finale of the week, also against TCS Postgrad, he closed things out with two more home runs, two walks and three RBI as his team put up a 15-7 victory.
Add it all up and it comes out to a week that featured 12 hits, six of which were home runs, four walks and 21 RBIs.
Those numbers earn Brady Cerkownyk the right to call himself the Canadian Baseball Network College Player of the Week for Feb. 13 to 19.
