Outfielder Cesar Valero (Calgary, Alta.) closed out the season with a bang for the Sacramento State Hornets.

Valero started things off by going 4-for-6 with three RBIs as the Hornets took down Pacific 18-15 in a midweek contest.

He then chipped in a pair of hits, a walk and two RBIs in a 13-6 win over Utah Tech to open their three-game series.

There was no slowing down in Game 2, as he went 3-for-5 with a single, a double, a solo home run and five RBI in a 12-3 victory.

In the finale, an 11-2 win, he collected a hit and drove in two.

Valero finishes the 2023 season with a .281 average, 10 home runs, 49 RBI and a .903 OPS in 54 games played.
