Howard College’s Jimmy Dionne (Quebec, Que.) has been one of the most prolific power hitting Canadians in all of college baseball this season.
And there was no slowing down at the end.
Dionne went 3-for-3 with a home run, a walk and two RBIs in an 8-2 Hawks’ win over New Mexico Military Institute to open their four-game series.
In Game 2, he had two hits, one of which was a home run, a walk and an RBI as his team walked away with an 11-1 victory.
After a double and a stolen base in a 9-8 Game 3 win, Dionne hit two more home runs as part of a three-hit, three-RBI Game 4 performance. He also walked as Howard completed the sweep with a 12-1 victory.
On the season, he played in all 52 games and hit .404 with 22 home runs, 79 RBI and a 1.325 OPS.
The Hawks finished with a 27-25 record.
Jimmy Dionne is the Canadian Baseball Network College Player of the Week for April 28 to May 4.
