Josh Cote caught fire last week for the Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen.

The Midland, Ont., native’s week started with a 2-for-4 performance with a RBI in a 9-6 Game 1 loss to Lamar.

After getting a day off in Game 2, a 7-2 Plainsmen loss, Cote powered his team to a 22-18 Game 3 victory thanks to three home runs and nine RBIs.

Looking for the series split, the former Terriers catcher again went 3-for-5, this time with a home run and three RBIs in a 24-13 win in Game 4.

If the four home runs weren’t enough, he also doubled three times on the week.

Add it all up and it comes out to eight hits, four home runs and 13 RBIs in three games played.

On the season he’s hitting .341 with five home runs, 16 RBIs, a .449 on-base percentage and an .805 slugging percentage.

Josh Cote is the Canadian Baseball Network College Player of the Week for Feb. 27 to March 5.
