When his team needed him the most, right-handed pitcher Kaleb Waller (Drinkwater, Sask.) was there. 

After dropping their opener of the Region 4 tournament, Kankakee Community College rallied to win a pair of games to put themselves in a position to play for a championship. 

In the final they’d see Madison College, the team they lost to in the opening game, which meant they needed back-to-back wins to claim the title. 

Waller took the ball in the first game and never looked back. 

He tossed a complete game shutout to lead the Cavaliers to a 9-0 win.  

The former Moose Jaw Canuck allowed just three hits, walked two and worked around four hit batters. He also pitched to contact, striking out only two.  

Unfortunately, the Cavs ran out of steam and dropped the second game 11-2. 

Kaleb Waller is the Canadian Baseball Network College Player of the Week for May 13 to 19.
