Facing University of British Columbia infielder Trent Lenihan (White Rock, B.C.) wasn’t a whole lot of fun for opposing pitchers last week.

In four games in Fullerton, Calif., Lenihan had 13 hits, including two home runs, a walk and six RBIs.

So, how did he do it?

He started with a 2-for-4 performance with a walk and an RBI in a 7-3 Thunderbirds’ win over Hope International University.

Next up was a pair of games against Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. In the first, he went 4-for-4 with an RBI in a 10-9 loss. The second saw him go 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 6-4 defeat.

To finish out the trip, he went 5-for-8 with a solo home run and three RBIs as the T-Birds secured a 2-2 weekend with a 9-7, 14-inning victory over Hope International. His solo home run gave his team an 8-7 lead in the top of the 14th.

A Canadian, on a Canadian team, is the Canadian Baseball Network College Player of the Week for Feb. 5 to 11.
