Canadian Baseball Network College Player of the Week: Austin Gomm

The Louisiana State University Shreveport Pilots signed INF Austin Gomm out of Parkland College on Sunday.

The Pilots are hoping they’ll receive the kind of performances that Gomm produced over the weekend for the Cobras.

Gomm (Mississauga, Ont.) started a four-game series with the Lincoln Land by going 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs.

He followed it up with a two-hit game with two more RBIs in an 8-5 Game 2 victory.

After another home run in a 2-1 Game 3 win, he again went 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs in a 12-7 Game 4 win to help his team secure the series victory.

The former all-star SS for Team Canada at the World Cup 18U is now hitting .471 with 14 home runs, 41 RBIs, a .551 on-base percentage and a .936 slugging percentage.

Gomm is the Canadian Baseball Network College Player of the Week for April 24-30.
