Owen Diodati Selected as SEC Baseball Co-Freshman of the Week
Diodati led the Crimson Tide in nearly every offensive statistic on Opening Weekend
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama baseball's Owen Diodati (Niagara Falls, Ont.) was selected as the SEC Co-Freshman of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon. The SEC Freshman of the Week honor is Alabama's first since 2016 when Chandler Taylor earned the distinction on March 21.

-Led the Crimson Tide in nearly every offensive category in Alabama's sweep of Northeastern on Opening Weekend
-Recorded six hits, five of which went for extra-bases, including a double, one triple and three home runs
-Contributed a team-high eight RBI, producing three apiece in the bookend games of the series and two in Saturday's matchup
-Added six runs scored, four of which came on Opening Day, to go with a double and four walks
-Slugged 2.000 and sported a .769 on-base percentage across the three-game series
-Began his collegiate career with a two-homer performance in the season opener
-Closed out the weekend with a perfect 3-for-3 afternoon, falling a double short of the cycle
