Canadian Futures Showcase final stats

The ninth edition of the Canadian Futures Showcase is complete.

The event, which featured over 160 of the best high school players from across Canada divided into six teams, was played at Rogers Centre in Toronto from September 19 to September 23.

Here are the final player stats from the event:

Team Black

Great Lake Canadians infielder Noah Cantwell (Cambridge, Ont.) went 4-for-7 with a double, two walks and two RBIs.


UBC Thunder right-hander Connor Phillips (Vancouver, B.C.) did not allow a hit or run in two innings.

Team Grey

Fieldhouse Pirates shortstop Owen Gregg (Oakville, Ont.) went 4-for-8 with six stolen bases.

Right-hander Makaio Cisneros (Whitby, Ont.), of the TNXL Academy, struck out three in three scoreless innings.

Team Navy

Fieldhouse Pirates outfielder Quinn Carson (Oakville, Ont.) had six stolen bases.

Langley Blaze left-hander Sean Duncan (Port Coquitlam, B.C.) tossed three scoreless innings and struck out six without allowing a hit.

Team New Blue

ABC outfielder William Polanco (Laval, Que.) had a home run during the showcase.

P27 Baseball Academy right-hander Matthew Brown (Carlisle, Ont.) struck out four batters in three scoreless innings.

Team Red

Okotoks Dawgs Academy shortstop Leo Cote (Okotoks, Alta.) went 4-for-7 with a double and two RBIs.

Vauxhall Academy left-hander Brett Getz (Medicine Hat, Alta.) threw three scoreless innings without allowing a hit.

Team Royal

Webber Wildcats outfielder Simon Baker (Cochrane, Alta.) had five hits and three stolen bases and was named the showcase MVP.

Great Lake Canadians right-hander Seith Ainsworth (Sarnia, Ont.) pitched two scoreless innings.
