Former Calgary PBF Redbirds and Canadian Junior National Team RHP Mike Soroka (Calgary, Alta.) is rrated the No. 1 prospect in the Atlanta Braves system. OTTAWA- With the non-waiver trade deadline and the Major League Baseball Draft in the rearview mirror, baseball publications are producing their mid-season prospect rankings.

MLBPipeline.com recently released their Top 100 overall list and Top 30 prospects list for each of the 30 MLB organizations, which includes a wave of young Canadian talent.

Making his MLB debut in May at the tender age of 20, Calgary’s Mike Soroka took over the No. 1 spot on the Atlanta Braves’ Top 30 list and also assumes the No. 15 slot on the Top 100 list. The young right-hander is currently working his way back to the mound from a sore throwing shoulder.

Also debuting earlier this season and just recently recalled by the St. Louis Cardinals, Maple Ridge, BC native Tyler O’Neill is ranked No. 48 on the Top 100 lost and No. 2 on the Cards’ organizational list.

In June, Noah Naylor became the highest Canadian selected in the 2018 MLB Draft and has since had a nice start to his pro career in the Arizona League slashing .327/.404/.429 with a home run through 14 games. The Mississauga native is ranked No. 4 in the Cleveland Indians’ organization.

Check out where other Canadians are ranked with their respective clubs.
