Official Vancouver Canadians News Release

HILLSBORO, OR – The Vancouver Canadians were stifled in a 12-1 loss against the Spokane Indians (Rockies) Saturday night at Ron Tonkin Field.

The Indians scored two in the third, six in the fourth, two in the fifth and two in the ninth to lead wire-to-wire. Vancouver didn’t help their cause; the C’s struggled with command and allowed a season-high 13 walks – six of which ended up scoring – to lose by their worst margin of the season.

MLB.com’s No. 23 Blue Jays prospect Will Robertson slugged his fifth homer of the year in the fourth to spoil the shutout but that would be all the offence could muster. Zac Cook doubled as part of a two-hit showing and Rafael Lantigua’s two-bagger provided the only other extra base hit.

Alejandro Melean will start for the Canadians in the finale Sunday afternoon.
