INF Jared Young, Prince George, BC - Called up to the big-league roster by the Chicago Cubs from Iowa Cubs at Triple A, International League. On Sept. 16, he made his debut against the Colorado Rockies at Wrigley Field. In front of family and friends he started the game at first base, and in four at-bats he had a double, which was his first big league hit. That day, Young became the third Canadian to make his big-league debut in 2022, following in the steps of Kingston, Ont., native Matt Brash (with the Seattle Mariners April 12 and Laval, Que., native Charles Leblanc (Miami Marlins July 30).
SS Trei Cruz, Toronto, Ont. - Placed on the development list by Detroit Tigers with Erie SeaWolves at Double A Eastern League.
1B Max Hewitt, Midhurst, Ont. - Activated from the development list by Lost Angeles Dodgers with Great Lakes Loons at High A Midwest League.
