London Majors first baseman Kaiden Cardoso is the IBL’s HRD Bat Co Batter of the Week.

Cardoso (Abbotsford, B.C.) continues to turn heads around the IBL as he extended his hitting streak to 19 games in Monday night’s 8-3 victory over the Barrie Baycats at Labatt Memorial Park. Cardoso finished the week batting .556 (10-for-18) with two home runs and six RBIs.

Honourable Mentions to Toronto’s Jonathan Solazzo (Mississauga, Ont.) who hit .500 (7-for-14) with four home runs and Chatham Kent’s Seth Strong who batted .333 (6-for-18) with two home runs and seven RBIs.

Cesar Rosado, of the Barrie Baycats, is the HRD Bat Co. Pitcher of the Week.

Rosado struck out 13 batters in two appearances over the week, pitching 7 1/3 innings of one-hit baseball.

Honourable mentions to Victor Payano, of the London Majors, who blanked the Guelph Royals Friday night at Labatt Memorial Park. He allowed just two hits in seven innings, while striking out seven.

Mitsuki Akatsuka, of the Hamilton Cardinals, who held the league-leading Welland Jackfish to four hits over seven innings on Canada Day. Akatsuka allowed two runs (one earned), no walks and fanned seven as the Cardinals ended Welland’s winning streak.

Jeremias Sucre, of the Brantford Red Sox, who blanked the Guelph Royals on Canada Day. He allowed six hits and struck out four in seven innings to lead the Sox to their second straight win.
