Quebec player Jacob Carroll had an excellent doubleheader with the Pratt Community College Beavers in Kansas.
In total, Carroll (Rawdon, Que.) belted two home runs, knocked in five and scored four times in his team’s two losses to the Hutchinson Community College Blue Hens.
In the first game, a 16-11 loss, Carroll had three hits, including a single, double and home run.
His home run in the first inning was a two-run shot that gave his team a 2-0 lead.
One of Carroll’s Quebec teammates at Pratt, Jacob Brault (Blainville, Que.) came into the game in relief in the sixth inning and pitched the last three innings. Brault, who has toed the rubber for the Royal de Repentigny in the Quebec Elite Junior Baseball League, shut out his rivals, yielding just two hits and recording two strikeouts.
Game II, Home run No. 2 on the day
Then, Carroll did it again in the second game in his team’s 14-7 loss.
Carroll, the 2021 hitting champion for the Quebec Elite Junior Baseball League’s Pirates de Laval, reached base on an error in the third inning. On the play, one of Carroll’s teammates scored to give Pratt a 3-2 lead.
Then, as the first batter of the fifth inning, Carroll hit his second home run of the day and sixth of the season.
He finished the game 1-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs.

Adamo Stornello’s first home run of the season
The Crowder College Roughriders swept a doubleheader against State Fair Community College, winning 21-4 and 20-4. Quebec’s Adamo Stornello (Montreal, Que.) was the catcher for Crowder in the first game and had two hits, including his first home run of the season. He also scored three runs and had two RBIs.
William Sierra
Reliever William Sierra (Montreal, Que.) came in in relief in the 10th inning for the Washington State University Cougars with the score tied 9-9 with Stanford University. Sierra struck out the two batters he faced to end the inning. Then, his team scored, to win 10-9 and Sierra picked up the win.
Mathieu Vallée’s 10th double of the season
The Northeastern A&M Oklahoma (NEO) College Golden Norse claimed an 8-6 victory over Rose State College , also of Oklahoma, in Game 2 of a doubleheader
Among the Quebecers of the NEO team, only Mathieu Vallée (Saint-Joseph-du-Lac, Que.) took part in the match. He was officially 1-for-3, with a hit, a walk and he was hit by a pitch. Vallée scored once and he had a double, his 10th of the season, which is the most among Quebec players in the U.S college ranks.
Fortier, Boucher, the Archbishop and Lefebvre in the same game
Four Quebecers played for Indian Hills Community College Trojans in the second game of a doubleheader. The Trojans suffered an 11-4 loss to the North Iowa Area Community College.
Samuel Fortier (Quebec, Que.) went 1-for-2, while Pier-Olivier Boucher (Quebec, Que.) was limited to one walk in three plate appearances. Justin L’Archevèque (Montreal, Que.) walked and scored a run in five plate appearances.
Pitcher Charles Lefebvre (Laval, Que.) worked in relief and gave up three runs -- one earned. Lefebvre allowed a hit and a walk and recorded two strikeouts.
In the first game of the day, Trojans won 6-4, with Fortier recording a walk, stolen base and a run in three at bats.
Alexandre Bédard and Jason Bégin bring back almost identical records
The Southwestern Oklahoma State University Dawgs played a doubleheader with East Central University. In the 10-7 Dawgs’ loss in the first game, Alexandre Bédard and Jason Bégin were hit by pitches but were otherwise hitless.
In the second game, a 10-7 Dawgs’ win, Bégin (Sherbrooke, Que.) had a hit (1-for-4), a run and an RBI, while Bédard (Levis, Que.) was 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored.
Olivier Mayrand’s first hit
Olivier Mayrand and his Florida’s Nova Southeastern University Sharks claimed their first victory of the season, a 7-4 win over the Tampa University Spartans. Mayrand collected his first hit of the season (1-for-4), scored and drove in a run.
Two appearances for Félix-Antoine Chénier-Rondeau
The Cowley College Tigers from Kansas split a doubleheader with the Allen County Community College Kansas. In the first game, a 9-3 Cowley loss, Félix-Antoine Chénier-Rondeau (Blainville, Que.) had a hit (1-for-3), was hit with a pitch and scored a run.
Archer Brookman crosses plate twice
With two runs scored, Quebec’s Archer Brookman helped Ohio State University to a 6-0 victory over the Indiana University Hoosiers. Brookman (Pointe-Claire, Que.) had a walk and laid down a nice bunt.
Tommy Reyes-Cruz’s Tough Doubleheader
The Faulkner University of Alabama Eagles split a doubleheader with Loyola University In both games, Tommy Reyes-Cruz (Montreal, Que.) was held 0-for-4.
