The Intercounty Baseball League announced today that Welland Jackfish catcher Sam Cawker has been named the league's Player of the Month for June.

The Courtice, Ont., native will be presented with an award from the IBL in recognition of his outstanding performance last month.

Cawker hit .395 during June with a home run and 14 RBIs to help keep the Jackfish near the top of the standings. In addition, he recorded six doubles, 10 walks and five stolen bases.
