Cazorla, Cramer, Crowson, Luther lead Dawgs to 22-5 win over Beavers

The Okotoks Dawgs took the lead early on Friday night and never looked back in a decisive 22-5 win over the Weyburn Beavers.

The Dawgs registered 25 hits - including four home runs - in the victory. They have now won five straight and are 15-5 on the season.

Cole Cramer continued his torrid hitting, going 5-for-6. He belted his first home run of the season and drove in four runs. Connor Stewart launched a three-run home run in the Dawgs’ eight-run fourth inning while Brendan Luther (Mississauga, Ont.) went 4-for-5 with five RBIs.

Connor Crowson (Okotoks, Alta.) went 3-for-6 for the Dawgs and socked a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth to give him three RBIs in the contest. Canon Reeder also belted his first home run of the season, finishing 2-for-6 with three RBIs.

Alejandro Cazorla (Okotoks, Alta.) was also a big contributor, going 4-for-6 with two RBIs.

Brody Forno (Okotoks, Alta.) got the start and tossed four scoreless innings, allowing just one hit while striking out seven.

The Dawgs welcome the Regina Red Sox to Seaman Stadium for a two-game series starting on Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Game 2 of the series is set for Sunday at 2:05 p.m.
