Official Okotoks Dawgs News Release

The Okotoks Dawgs got back in the win column on Thursday night when they defeated the Swift Current 57’s 2-0.

In a battle of No. 1 seeds, the Dawgs prevailed due to solid pitching and defence that eradicated any momentum Swift Current tried to generate.

The Dawgs now sit at 13-3 on the season.

Brady Baltus turned in a strong performance, tossing seven innings, allowing six hits and finishing with three strikeouts. Relief efforts from Brody Forno (Okotoks, Alta.) and Bode Brooks helped to protect the Dawgs lead.

In a low scoring game, Brendan Luther (Mississauga, Ont.) and Alejandro Cazorla (Calgary, Alta.) stood out at the plate, each going 2-for-3, with Cazorla scoring once. Noah Geekie (Strathclair, Man.) went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

The Dawgs will face the Bulls in Lethbridge on Friday night, concluding their nine-game road trip.
