There is always some overlap when it comes to Player of the Week.
For example the Canadian Baseball Network week ends on a Tuesday. For some other leagues it ends on a Monday or a Sunday.
No matter the parameters, Wes Darvill was earning honours. The former Langley Blaze INF was the Canadian Baseball Network player of the week for the second straight week. The Winnipeg Goldeyes infielder was also the independent league American Association Batter of the Week.
Darvill batted .375 (9-for-24) with two homers and eight RBIs to win Canadian Baseball Network player of the week.
In the American Association’s week, Darvill hit .444 (12-for-27) with three homers and 10 RBIs.
There is a bump in our weekly total as play in the Austrian Federation began in the first week of August with two Canucks, the German Bundesliga has been active since the first week of August with five Canadians on the rosters and one Canuck is in the Swiss Federation.

On Aug. 15th Sam Belisle-Springer was at the top his game in 6-0 win by Hamburg over Dortmund Wanderers. He pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing only three hits and while striking out nine to secure his first win in the German Bundesliga in 2020. His overall record with the Stealers in two starts, now stands at 1-1 with a 2.08 ERA.
