At the Canadian Futures Showcase in Ottawa, one man stood alone.

Myles Naylor (Mississauga, Ont.) easily won the home run derby staged with aluminum bats at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton Park.

And his older brother Bo Naylor (Mississauga, Ont.) stood alone with the triple-A Columbus Clippers. While Myles was the best of 146 players at the showcase, Bo was the best of the Canucks -- and the only one to qualify for our weekly minimum of 10 at-bats, making him Canadian Baseball Network minor league Player of the Week for Week XXV.

The triple A teams finished the season Sept. 28. Factoring in the recent call ups to the majors for Charles Leblanc (Miami Marlins), Jared Young (Chicago Cubs), Rob Zastryzny (Los Angeles Angels), Abraham Toro (Seattle Mariners) and Otto Lopez (Toronto Blue Jays), plus Atlanta placing Gwinnett pitcher Mike Soroka on the Injured list for the remainder of the season, only four players were on active rosters this week for triple A games.

The four included Kole Cottam (Worcester), Trevor Brigden (Durham) or Curtis Taylor (Rochester) and Naylor. Only Naylor met the threshold for an appearance on this week’s lists.

This will be the final submission for 2022 until we get until the top 10 lists in a couple of weeks.
