COBA Major Sam Bat Team of Week - Mother Nature

By Dan Estey

Mother Nature has been pretty harsh over the past few weeks in the GTA and the surrounding areas. So much so that the heavy rains have rendered fields unplayable over the course of the week.

All in all, going back to opening day last Friday, the whole league schedule to this point (nine games) have been postponed due to rain and/or wet field conditions.

As you can imagine, this has players and managers alike frustrated by all of the poor weather. This year has been especially frustrating for some teams as they have not even been able to get outside on the field to put players through their paces in preparation for the season.

Due to the poor weather, there will be not be a COBA Major Yellow Jacket Bats Player of the Week or Zero K Bats Pitcher of the Week. The unanimous COBA Major Sam Bat Team of the Week - Mother Nature. Hopefully this will be the only week she wins this honor.

Hopefully there will be a little more action to report in Week III of the season next week. League play will pick up on Monday, May 14th as the Burlington Brants (0-0) will make the trek to Greg Cranker Field to take on the Erindale Cardinals (0-0). First pitch for this contest will take place at 7:30pm.
