The COBA Major Week VII POWs and Team of the Week:

The COBA Major Zero K Bats Player of the Week is Anthony Rizquez of the Burlington Brants.

This is the first weekly award for Rizquez this year. For his week, he played two games batting .500 (5-for-10) with two doubles and a triple. He scored four runs, collected seven RBIs and had two stolen bases.

For the season, Rizquez is now hitting at a .333 clip (16-for-48) over the club’s first 12 games. He has six doubles, a triple and a home run while plating 14 runs and driving in 14 RBIs.

Burlington’s Cam Ryerson


The COBA Major Sam Bat Pitcher of the week is Cam Ryerson of the Burlington Brants.

The veteran hurler takes this honour for the first time this season. In his only appearance this week, he collected the win, as he tossed three innings of relief allowing one run (earned) on five hits. He walked one, while striking out three Milton batters.

After being injured to start the season, Ryerson now sports a 1-0 record with a save. He has thrown five innings and allowed three runs (all earned) on eight hits for a 5.40 ERA. He has walked two batters while striking out three.

The COBA Major Zingers Bats Team of the Week are the Erindale Cardinals.

The Cardinals had one game this week as they collected a win at home against the Oakville A’s by a score of 14-9.

With the win, Brampton now sits at 6-5 on the season good for 12 points overall and are currently tied for 2nd place in the Andrews Division standings.
