After being shut out on Thursday night, the Okotoks Dawgs' offence came alive on Friday as they defeated the Medicine Hat Mavericks 18-4.

The Dawgs collected 21 hits and took advantage of the Mavericks’ five errors to improve to 11-4 on the season.

Nash Crowell (Yarmouth, N.S.) got the offence rolling early, blasting two home runs and finishing the game 2-for-6 with four RBIs. Logan Grant (Chestermere, Alta.) and Titus Dumitru also homered and combined for five RBIs. Alejandro Cazorla (Okotoks, Alta.) led the team with four hits and had two RBIs.

Brody Forno (Okotoks, Alta.) got the start tonight and tossed three innings and struck out three batters. Relief efforts from Jace Behnke, Garrett Maloney, Gavin Wuschke (Regina, Sask.), Seth Thompson (Calgary, Alta.) and Tim O’Connor kept the Mavericks’ offence quiet.

The Dawgs will return home on Saturday for Father’s Day weekend where they will host the Lethbridge Bulls for a two-game series. First pitch on Saturday will be at 7:05 p.m.
