Crowell, Hammill, Valero lead Dawgs to 11th straight win

The Okotoks Dawgs defeated the Swift Current 57s 12-3 at Seaman Stadium on Friday.

The Dawgs had 13 hits while their pitching staff struck out 12.

With the victory, the Dawgs extended their winning streak to 11 and moved to 21-5 on the season. They remain in first in the West division.

Cesar Valero (Calgary, Alta.) got the Dawgs’ offence rolling in the second inning with a sac fly which accounted for one of his three RBIs in the contest. Nash Crowell (Yarmouth, N.S.) smashed his team-leading fifth home run of the season and finished 3-for-4.

Elijha Hammill (Oakville, Ont.) added two hits, including a three-run triple in the bottom of the 8th and Canon Reeder went 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

On the mound, Bobby Vath started and allowed just one run on four hits in five innings, while striking out five.

The Dawgs welcome the Brooks Bombers to Seaman Stadium on Saturday for their annual Canada Day game, with opening pitch set for 7:05 p.m.
