As it is with most young pitching prospects, the jump from the Single A level to Double A provides a real challenge, and this has been the case in 2017 with Brock Dykxhoorn. Pitching for the Astros affiliate Corpus Christi Hooks in the Texas League on June 8th in an 11-6 win over Frisco Roughriders, he threw 3 1/3 innings, surrendered four base hits and while striking out seven, to earn his first win of the season. This outing improved his record in 11 appearances for the Hooks to 1-3 with a 5.68 ERA.

He pitched seven innings, gave up only one base hit and one earned run while striking out nine Bradenton hitters, to earn his third win of the year.
