The Okotoks Dawgs defeated the Swift Current 57’s 14-2 in front of 4,622 fans at Seaman Stadium on Sunday.

With the win, the Dawgs improved to 20-4 on the season.

Jason Arriola (University of Colorado Pueblo) led the Dawgs’ offence with four hits - including two doubles - and four RBIs, while Brendan Luther (Mississauga, Ont.) had two hits and knocked in five.

Lou Anderson (Montreal, Que.) and Aidan Rose (Calgary, Alta.) also had two-hit games for the Dawgs, while Anderson scored a team-high three runs. Rose, Nash Crowell (Yarmouth, N.S.) and Barry Eiseman (University of Montevallo) also crossed the plate twice each.

On the mound, Gavin Wuschke (Regina, Sask.) started and tossed five strong innings, allowing just two runs. Right-hander Brady Forno (Okotoks, Alta.) entered the game in the sixth and pitched three scoreless innings before Ashton Luera (Oklahoma Wesleyan University) recorded the final three outs in the ninth.

The Dawgs will look to sweep their short series on Canada Day at Seaman Stadium.
