The Okotoks Dawgs defeated the Lethbridge Bulls 5-1 in front of 5,471 fans at Seaman Stadium in their final home game of the regular season.

With the win, the Dawgs improved their record to 41-14 with one game left in the campaign.

Caleb Lumbard (Regina, Sask.) belted a two-run home run in the sixth inning for the Dawgs, while Jarrett Burney (Reinhardt University) extended his hitting streak to 13 games, going 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Ricky Sanchez (Lamar University) also had two hits and an RBI for the Dawgs.

On the mound, Brody Forno (Okotoks, Alta.) started and allowed just one run, while striking out five, in three innings.

Garrett Maloney (Campbellsville University) followed out of the bullpen and struck out the side in the fourth.

Cade Herrmann (Bellevue University), Aaron Hammer (Campbellsville University), Zane Morrison (Campbellsville University), and Gavin Wuschke (Regina, Sask.) then each contributed scoreless innings, collecting a combined six strikeouts. Hammer collected the win.

Ashton Luera (Oklahoma Wesleyan University) then struck out the side for the seventh time this season to close out the game.

The Dawgs will head to Lethbridge on Monday to take on the Bulls for the final game of the regular season.

They will then return to Seaman Stadium for Game 1 of the West Division Semi-Finals on Wednesday.
