Dawgs defeat Bulls 4-1 in regular season finale

The Okotoks Dawgs defeated the Lethbridge Bulls 4-1 on Monday night in front of 1,056 fans at Spitz Stadium in their final game of the Western Canadian Baseball League regular season.
The two teams, who split the eight games they have played this season, will now face off in a West Division Semifinals showdown that begins on Wednesday at Seaman Stadium.
With the win, the Dawgs finished the regular season with a 42-14 record.
Logan Grant (Chestermere, Alta.) lead the Dawgs’ offence on Monday, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Dawson Santana (Oregon State University) also chipped in with a hit and two RBIs, including knocking in the Dawgs’ go-ahead run in the fifth inning.
On the mound, Cam Stephens (Linn-Benton CC) started and struck out a season-high 13 batters, while allowing just one run, in five innings.
Chase Tucker (St. John’s, Nfld.) then threw three scoreless innings in relief.
Easton Corey (Linn-Benton CC) notched the save when he tossed a scoreless ninth, striking out two of the three batters he faced.
