Official Okotoks Dawgs News Release

The Okotoks Dawgs returned home from their two-game road trip in Brooks, to face the Lethbridge Bulls at Seaman Stadium, where they extended their winning streak to eight games.

The Dawgs had a massive second inning where they scored the bulk of their total runs to secure a lead they would never squander. The Dawgs would add one run in the third and fourth inning to make the chances of a Bulls’ comeback even more improbable.

The Dawgs bats came alive in the second inning when the team put up seven runs on the Bulls. The offence was powered by hitting efforts throughout the lineup, however debuts from JJ Hoover and Ruben Cedillo stood out in the box score. Hoover finished the game with three RBIs, while going 2-for-4 in his season debut. Cedillo made his presence felt by scoring two runs and finishing the night with an RBI while going 1-for-3.

Graham Seltzer started his second game of the season, improving to 2-0 on the season. Seltzer pitched five innings, only allowing one run and finished with four strikeouts. Seltzer's only run allowed came in the first inning and as Seltzer settled in, he would shut down the Bulls until he was relieved.

The relief pitching as a unit, contributed four strikeouts and made life very difficult for the Bulls batters, helping to improve the Dawgs’ current win streak and overall record to 8-0.

The Dawgs are now set to embark on a nine-game road trip starting with Sylvan Lake on June 8 and will return home to Seaman Stadium on Fathers Day weekend when they will face the Moose Jaw Miller Express.
