Dawgs defeat Prospects on second straight night

The Okotoks Dawgs beat the Edmonton Prospects 22-1 in front of 5,823 fans at Seaman Stadium on Friday night.
The Dawgs were wearing their special Town Connect jerseys in their second consecutive win over the Prospects.
With the victory, the Dawgs are now 13-1 on the season.
The Dawgs were out in full force offensively on Friday. Barry Eiseman (University of Montavello) led the Dawgs with four hits, five RBIs, and two runs, while newcomer Jarrett Burney (Reinhardt University) had four hits and five RBIs of his own.
Left fielder Logan Grant (Chestermere, Alta.) was another standout at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four runs and three RBIs.
On the mound, Troy Benko (Mesa Community College) started for the Dawgs and registered five strikeouts in four scoreless innings. In total, Dawgs pitchers had 12 strikeouts.
Seth Thompson (Calgary, Alta.) racked up two strikeouts and pitched a scoreless ninth to close out the game for the Dawgs.
The Dawgs will now host the Fort McMurray Giants for the first time this season on Saturday. Gates to Seaman Stadium will open at 5:30 p.m.
