The Okotoks Dawgs were defeated 9-4 by the Lethbridge Bulls in front of 3,713 fans at Seaman Stadium on Wednesday night.

It was the Dawgs’ second loss of the season. Their season record is now 13-2.

Jacob Wrubleski (Okotoks Alta.) belted his sixth home run of the campaign for the Dawgs in the loss. He also had a single and was hit by a pitch. Tucker Zdunich (High River, Alta.) added a single and two RBIs.

On the mound, William Fife (Mesa Community College) started and allowed four earned runs in 3 1/3 innings, while also fanning three batters. Quinn Tocheniuk (Okotoks, Alta.) closed out the night for the Dawgs with a scoreless ninth.

The Dawgs will now head out on the road for the next four days to face the Fort McMurray Giants.

Seaman Stadium, however, will be hosting a Futures Game on Saturday that will see the Dawgs Academy’s 17-18 year-old-teams, Red and Black, play against each other. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and fans are encouraged to come cheer on their future Dawgs players.

The Dawgs return to Seaman Stadium on June 25 to face the Sylvan Lake Gulls.
