Official Okotoks Dawgs News Release

The Western Canadian Baseball League has announced its 2022 award winners and some of the Dawgs’ top players took home some hardware.

Ricardo Sanchez was named the 2022 WCBL MVP. He was a sparkplug for the Dawgs all season long, hitting .342 with 15 doubles, four triples and two home runs while driving in 39 runs.

Brendan Luther (Mississauga, Ont.) was named the 2022 WCBL Playoff MVP. During the regular season, Luther hit .357 with 49 runs scored, 15 doubles and two triples while driving in 33 runs.

Micah McDowell (Coldbrook, N.S.) was named the Dawgs MVP. McDowell was dominant during his time with the Dawgs, hitting .381 with six doubles, three triples, two home runs while driving in 24 runs and swiping 25 bags.
