The Dawgs bats came alive in Brooks on Thursday night, as they took down the Bombers 9-0.
The Dawgs jumped on the Bombers early and never looked back. Clutch hitting and stellar pitching helped the Dawgs cruise to their sixth win of the season. They remain the only undefeated team in the WCBL.
For the second night in a row, the Dawgs opened the scoring in the first inning, this time tallying three runs. Ryan Doussett (Calgary, Alta.) had a strong performance, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs. In the top of the sixth inning, Alejandro Cazorla (Okotoks, Alta.) hit the first grand slam of the season for the Dawgs.
The Dawgs add two more runs in the seventh to put the game out of reach.
Brody Forno (Okotoks, Alta.) started and struck out seven batters in four scoreless innings. The bullpen then shut down the Bombers, not allowing a hit in relief of Forno. In total, Dawgs pitchers struck out 12 in the win.
The Dawgs will make their way back to Seaman Stadium for the final three games of this six-game stretch, starting on Friday night when they host the Sylvan Lake Gulls. The Dawgs Futures game will be held on Saturday, with opening pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
