Dawgs down Giants 9-1 for 11th win in 12 games

The Okotoks Dawgs collected another win on the road defeating the the Fort McMurray Giants 9-1.

The Dawgs improve to 11-1 on the season with a dominating performance in the third game of the series.

Starting pitcher Julian Tymochko (Toronto, Ont.) earned his third win of the season, pitching five hitless innings and finishing with four strikeouts.

Relief efforts from Rylan Penner (Winnipeg, Man.), Quinn Tocheniuk (Okotoks, Alta.) and Cade Hermann helped secure the victory.

The offence was powered by Ricky Sanchez, Jacob Morrow, Noah Geekie (Strathclair, Man.) and Alejandro Cazorla (Calgary, Alta.) who drove in runs for the Dawgs. Key errors by the Giants’ defence allowed the Dawgs to extend their lead.

The Dawgs will face the Giants on Sunday afternoon for the series finale before heading out to Regina, Swift Current and Lethbridge.

The Dawgs will return to Seaman Stadium for the annual “Father’s Day” Extravaganza on June 19.
