Dawgs drop second straight to Giants

On Saturday night, the Okotoks Dawgs dropped their second straight game to the Fort McMurray Giants, losing 6-3.

With the loss, the Dawgs’ record sits at 36-14 with six games left in the regular season.

Titus Dumitru, Cole Cramer and Brendan Luther (Mississauga, Ont.) each had two hits for the Dawgs. Dumitru also had two RBIs.

Dumitru, Ricky Sanchez and Logan Grant (Chestermere, Alta.) each scored a run for the Dawgs.

On the mound, Noah Geekie (Strathclair, Man.) got the start and allowed five runs on seven hits in two innings. Dawgs relievers then held the Giants to just one run in the ensuing seven innings.

The Dawgs will be back in action on Monday when they host the Lethbridge Bulls in a make-up game from Father’s Day which was rained out. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
