Okotoks, Alta. - The Okotoks Dawgs were looking for redemption after suffering their first loss of the season on Friday in Lethbridge.

On Sunday, at Seaman Stadium, they found it in the form of a 12-4 victory over the Lethbridge Bulls in front of over 5,000 fans on “Princess in the Park” day.

The win boosts the Dawgs’ record to 10-1 for the season.

The Dawgs’ lineup flexed their power on Sunday. Tucker Zdunich (High River, Alta.) went 3-for-4 with a hard-hit double and a three-run home run in the seventh.

Brendan Luther (Mississauga, Ont.), appearing in his first home game of the season, had four hits and two RBIs, while Kadyn Williams (Emporia State University) had a two-run single to put the Dawgs on the board in the second.

Third baseman Ricardo Sanchez (Lamar University) also chipped in with two hits, including a solid line-drive double.

Zane Morrison (Campbellsville University) recorded his first win of the WCBL season after throwing four innings and striking out two. Brody Forno (Okotoks, Alta.), Ashton Luera (Oklahoma Wesleyan University) and Cade Herrmann (Bellevue University) all threw scoreless innings in relief for the Dawgs. Herrmann and Forno struck out four in a combined two innings of work.

The Dawgs will now head out on the road to take on the Edmonton Prospects on Tuesday. They will then return to Seaman Stadium on Wednesday to battle the Brooks Bombers.
