The Lethbridge Bulls scored two runs in the seventh inning to propel them to a 3-1 win over the Okotoks Dawgs on Sunday afternoon.

The loss snapped the Dawgs’ nine-game winning streak. The two clubs will meet two more times before the WCBL season ends on August 7.

The Dawgs scored first thanks to a single from University of Houston product Brett Esau, combined with a throwing error by the Bulls, that allowed Bellevue University catcher J.T Patterson, who had walked, to cross the plate.

The Bulls evened the score in the fifth on a two-out chopper by WCBL RBI leader Kaleb Warden when Dawgs pitcher Justin Hammergren had to make a tough catch while covering first base but missed the touching the base.

A two-run single by Bulls second baseman Ashton Roy in the seventh would put the Bulls ahead 3-1 and drive Hammergren out of the game.

The Dawgs now travel back to Seaman Stadium to play the Bulls again to make up for a game that was postponed on June 7. The first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. on Monday.
