Okotoks Dawgs

The Okotoks Dawgs lost 8-1 to the Brooks Bombers at Elks Stadium on Tuesday night.

With the loss, the Dawgs fall to 26-7 on the season and into second place in the Western Canadian Baseball League West division, one game behind the Sylvan Lake Gulls.

A home run by Nash Crowell (Yarmouth, N.S.) in the second inning accounted for the Dawgs’ only offence.

On the mound, Quinn Tocheniuk (Okotoks, Alta.) started and allowed one earned run, while striking out three, in two innings.

Dawgs Academy right-hander Trey Mackwood (Calgary, Alta.) made his first WCBL appearance and registered two strikeouts in a scoreless eighth inning.

The Dawgs continue their road trip on Wednesday when they will play the Sylvan Lake Gulls.

The two teams will then face off at Seaman Stadium the following night.
