Okotoks Dawgs
The collective hearts of the Dawgs family are heavy today, as we mourn the passing of Dawgs director Bill Tanguay.
Bill was an avid baseball fan and original member of the summer collegiate Dawgs group of directors . After many years as a season ticket holder for the Calgary Cannons, Bill was pleased to partner on the vision of bringing summer collegiate baseball to Calgary. This was Bill’s introduction to the long established and highly respected Dawgs baseball program, and he quickly became not only one of the Dawgs family, but one of its most avid fans.
The move to Okotoks and Seaman Stadium brought a higher profile and tremendous growth in support, much to Bill’s delight. From his seat adjacent the Dawgs dugout, Bill could be found cheering on ‘the boys’ each home game.
Our home clubhouse in the Duvernay Fieldhouse was proudly named in Bill’s honour, recognizing his tremendous support of the Dawgs in many tangible ways. Bill’s passing leaves us saddened. As we express our sincere condolences to the Tanguay Family, we mourn the loss of our director, proud fan and dear friend.
