OKOTOKS, Alta. — The Okotoks Dawgs brushed back the Lethbridge Bulls 14- 6 at Seaman Stadium on Friday.

The Dawgs (22-10) jumped in front with a couple big home runs in front of 4,211 fans and have now won seven in a row.

In the bottom of the third, Bulls starter Bryce Oriold-Fraser loaded the bases with two out after hitting Eddie Sanchez (Central Arkansas University) and Will Hollis (Cisco College). Designated hitter Nate DeChaine ended the no-hit bid and shutout when he drilled his ninth home run of the season. It was also the first grand slam for the Dawgs this season.

The Dawgs weren’t done with the long ball yet. In the bottom of the fifth, centre fielder Collin Ridout (Tennessee Wesleyan University) elevated a two-run shot over the scoreboard in right field. Ridout also scored Ryan Humeniuk (Indian Hills Community College) with a sacrifice fly in the sixth.

Oriold-Fraser went 5 1/3 innings, gave up eight earned runs and struck out six,  as his record dropped to 0-2.

The Bulls (13-21) got on the board in the sixth when Humeniuk overran a base hit by Kaleb Warden, which allowed a pair of unearned runs to score.

Humeniuk redeemed himself in the bottom half and scored Abdiel Alicea (Tabor College) with a double to right field. Later in the inning, Sanchez drove in a run and Hollis scored two on a pair of singles.

When the windstorm rolled in for the seventh, Carter Witbeck and Hank Forrest tagged Robinson with a pair solo home runs.

Robinson went seven innings, allowed two earned runs and struck out seven, as his record improved to 3-2.

Alex Jones (Niagara University) came in relief in the eighth and surrendered an earned and unearned run.

Hollis tacked on three runs in the eighth when he hit a bases-clearing double to centre field to end with a team-high five RBIs.
