The Okotoks Dawgs have re-signed right-hander Seth Thompson.

The club made the announcement on social media on Thursday.

Thompson (Calgary, Alta.) will return for his fourth season with the Dawgs. Last season, he developed into an elite reliever, posting a 1.87 ERA, while striking out 29 batters in 24 innings, in 25 appearances.

The 6-foot-4 right-hander also had three scoreless appearances in the postseason and recorded the final outs for the Dawgs in their championship-winning game.

For his efforts, Thompson was named to the Alberta Dugout Stories All-WCBL Team as a relief pitcher.

An Okotoks Dawgs Academy alum, Thompson made his WCBL debut with the Dawgs in the pandemic shortened 2021 season.

The young right-hander pitched for Chandler-Gilbert Community College in 2022 and announced his commitment to North Dakota State University last June.
