The Okotoks Dawgs improved their record to 3-0 with a 17-3 win over the Sylvan Lake Gulls on Tuesday in front of 4,124 fans at Seaman Stadium.

Eric Machej (Okotoks, Alta.) was the offensive leader for the Dawgs, going 3-for-6 with a triple and four RBIs.

Jacob Wrubleski (Calgary, Alta.) added three RBIs and scored three runs and finished 2-for-3.

Trent Warstler struck out two to close out the ninth for the Dawgs. Troy Benko and Zane Morrison also fanned two batters each in their scoreless innings in relief.

The Dawgs will now take on the Brooks Bombers in their first road game of the WCBL season on Friday.

This is followed by their next at-home clash with the Brooks Bombers at Seaman Stadium on Saturday, where the Dawgs will be celebrating Veterans Night to honour those who have served in the Canadian Armed Forces. Gates will open at Seaman Stadium at 5:30 p.m. and first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
