The Okotoks Dawgs beat the Fort McMurray Giants 8-7 on Sunday at Legacy Dodge Field to complete a four-game sweep of the series.

With the win, the Dawgs are 17-2 on the season.

Connor Crowson (Okotoks, Alta.) led the way offensively again for the Dawgs, going 4-for-5 with three doubles and a triple. He also scored twice and knocked in two.

Designated hitter Jacob Wrubleski (Okotoks, Alta.) and Kadyn Williams (Emporia State University) also contributed two hits each for the Dawgs.

On the mound, Zane Morrison (Campbellsville University) started and allowed two runs in four innings before the bullpen took over. The Dawgs used six different relievers on Sunday. Trent Wartsler (Emporia State University) picked up the win after tossing a scoreless eighth. Seth Thompson (Calgary, Alta.) then held the Giants off the scoreboard in the ninth to record the save.

The Dawgs will return to Seaman Stadium on Tuesday to play the Sylvan Lake Gulls in their next game.
