Dawgs to host WCBL All-Star Game on July 20

The Okotoks Dawgs Baseball Club, in conjunction with the Western Canadian Baseball League (“WCBL”), is hosting the 2024 WCBL All-Star Game on Saturday, July 20 at Seaman Stadium in Okotoks, Alta.
This year’s event promises to be the event of the summer.
The All-Star Game brings the best from the East Division and the West Division, matched-up on field at Seaman Stadium. A truly one-of-a-kind event, has become a staple for fans each summer. An all-day celebration of baseball to entertain fans and spectators alike, featuring a Home Run Derby, Pre-Game Show, autograph signings, fan favourite mascots, family fun activities for all and of course, the WCBL All-Star Game itself.
Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame member, and Canadian baseball icon, Matt Stairs (Fredericton, N.B.) will be in attendance. Stairs, a 19-year big leaguer, is best known for his thunderous bat and incredibly fan friendly personality, and of course, winning the 2008 World Series with the Philadelphia Phillies.
In addition to the WCBL All-Star Game, Stairs is hosting a hitting clinic at Seaman Stadium, Friday, July 19. Players are encouraged to register early as spots are running out quickly. The camp will feature instruction from Stairs himself, alongside Dawgs players and coaches. Last year, over 70 athletes joined Matt on-field for the camp.
Running from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., this year’s camp provides added value for any young aspiring hitter. Included in the camp price, players receive a ticket to the WCBL All-Star Game the following day. For more information, please contact the Dawgs Office 403- 262-3294.
This year the Dawgs hope to build upon a successful and sold-out 2023 WCBL All- Star Game. Last year’s event saw a record breaking 6,003 fans enter the gates at Seaman Stadium.
