The Okotoks Dawgs ended their regular season on a high note, defeating the Lethbridge Bulls 7-1 on Saturday night.

The Dawgs finished the regular season with a 40-16 record and clinched the top seed in the WCBL.

Up next for the Dawgs is a first-round playoff matchup with the Fort McMurray Giants.

Brendan Luther (Mississauga, Ont.) went 1-for-3 for the Dawgs to finish the regular season on a 17-game hitting streak.

Meanwhile, Trent Lenihan (White Rock, B.C.) launched his fifth home run of the season and Nash Crowell (Yarmouth, N.S.) knocked in his 39th run of the campaign.

Connor Stewart and Alejandro Cazorla (Okotoks, Alta.) contributed two RBIs each for the Dawgs. Cazorla had three hits in the game.

On the mound, Garrett Maloney started and threw two scoreless innings.

The Dawgs will begin the postseason on Monday at home against the Fort McMurray Giants. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
