The Okotoks Dawgs made it five straight wins to open the season after a come-from-behind, 5-4 win over the Fort McMurray Giants on Wednesday night.

The Dawgs jumped on the Giants in the first inning, scoring two runs. They would hold the lead until the top of the sixth when they gave up four runs.

The Dawgs came back in the bottom of the ninth, driving home two runs courtesy of Ryan Dousett (Calgary, Alta.) who had an RBI single and Ricky Sanchez who drove home the tying run with a sac fly.

Dousett would also drive home the winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning to seal the win.

The Dawgs bats picked it up from the previous night, smacking 11 hits.

Dryden Howse (Okotoks, Alta.) led the way, going 3-for-4 with three singles. Sanchez, in his first game back with the Dawgs this season, went 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Daniel Hutchison had a strong outing, allowing just two hits in three scoreless innings, while striking out four.

The Dawgs are off to Brooks to battle the Bombers on Thursday night. The Dawgs will return home to Seaman Stadium on Friday night to take on the Sylvan Lake Gulls.
